At LDI we are committed to our customers and dedicated to finding great equipment salespeople to fill the role. LDI-Hays is no exception. Ross Schiffelbein and Clint Herl “Do What It Takes” to get the job done. We enjoyed getting to talk and learn more about them as they shared about themselves and why they love LDI!
Ross, his wife, and their two young boys moved to the Hays area about a year ago when he started at LDI. Clint was born and raised in Ellis County growing up in Victoria and attended Fort Hays State University. He moved back to the area last year to raise his family in western Kansas and joined the LDI team. Some of their daily responsibilities at LDI are finding new customers and taking care of the ones they already have. “The customers are our first priority,” says Clint, “we help them with anything they need as far as new or used equipment, as well as making sure they are supported and taken care of after a sale.” Both Ross and Clint joined LDI in the last year and a half. They both agree that the best part of working at LDI is hands down the people. Getting to work with great coworkers and customers makes the job something worth doing.
With Ross and Clint both being relatively new to the LDI Sales Team they both have experienced similar challenges that the LDI team has helped them through. They both share similar experiences in learning the equipment and day-to-day processes within the business, Clint explains, “There is a lot of support from the store; the store manager, the other salesmen in helping me learn, along with the corporate office, they are just an email or phone call away and they can step you through the processes and get you on your way.” With any new position there will be challenges, but having a team like LDI to back you up and guide you to success is something worth celebrating. When both men were asked why they would recommend working at LDI to someone seeking employment, they both unanimously agreed that “it’s because of the people.” Ross tells us, “I would recommend working at LDI because the onboarding process has been great for me. There’s a lot of people you can reach out to, a lot of people in your back pocket. We have a lot of experienced service technicians, salesmen, and people in the corporate office going to bat for us. A lot of them are one phone call away and most everyone I work with will jump up and do anything for you.” There is nothing more important than a team that cares for you. At LDI we strive to make you feel heard.
LDI also puts a huge emphasis on our products and helps salesmen understand what they are selling. It is hard to be successful if you are unsure of what you’re advocating for. Clint says, “LDI has helped shape and improve my career as I move forward in their focus on training, helping us get up to speed on products and processes. During my time here I have been to several in-person product trainings with AGCO for sprayers, hay equipment, tractors, and combines. They really want to help us learn the product so we can better guide customers to getting what will help them.” LDI is also a great place to learn something new. Many of our salesmen come from an agricultural background. They’ve grown up on the farm, helping their friends and family in their operations. For Ross, “LDI has been great about showing me the retail aspect and helping me understand that side of agriculture. It has improved customer interaction, going up and meeting new people, and not being afraid to nurture every level of customers.” Succeeding is what every salesman hopes to do and the team at LDI and AGCO want to help everyone do just that.
The LDI motto is “Doing What It Takes.” When Ross and Clint were asked how they apply that every day in their job, they both agreed: “Whether it’s from the sales aspect, service, or parts, we like to do everything to help the customer and get the products and support them. They are our number one and we make sure to treat them like it.” If you are interested in learning more about career opportunities at LDI and how you can get started “Doing What It Takes” reach out to your local LDI for open positions, visit our website https://ldi.us/about-us/join-our-team, call 785.614.3103, or email us at hr@ldi.us.
