Product Spotlight: Customization Inside the Fendt 900 Vario

When looking at the powerhouse of a Fendt 900 Vario, the technology of the three screens and many buttons can be overwhelming for a potential buyer, but the advancements of this machine are truly here to benefit any user and are easy to understand and master with simple explanation!

We interviewed Aaron Koelling, an equipment salesman, at the LDI-Salina location to get a more in-depth conversation about the multitude of opportunities that sit inside your Fendt 900.

Aaron has worked at LDI for eleven years starting his journey on the service side working on equipment and learning the ropes inside and out. This has later helped him give his customers a more detailed description of how each machine runs and better explain the customizable features within the cab.

To start analyzing let’s dive into the buttons to the right of the operator in the Fendt 900 Vario. Aaron informs us:

  • the orange buttons are all engine power and/or transmission functions
  • the two yellow buttons are PTO
  • the blue buttons are hydraulics
  • the white buttons are all programable to apply various functions to ease operation

“The left joystick is also completely programmable for hydraulic function and/or a series of events to happen. For example, we can have either of the hydraulics on the top buttons, an auto steer button, along with recording and manual setup for timing, equipment lift, auto stir engagement, as well as engine speeds and ground speeds. The right joystick can have up to 29 different function operations programmed to it.” (Aaron)

Aaron continues further into describing how you can customize the lower right screen with the joystick and match the color icons corresponding to the hydraulic layout the operator prefers. “The program can also save and record an operator’s set-up and be retrieved later if another operator has adjusted it to their liking,” explains Aaron.

To navigate through the different screen displays, it’s as simple as a push and swipe with one finger and the operator can view all their customizable options and programmed set-ups across the monitor.

You can access any of the function menus by a simple click on the “hamburger menu” button in the top right-hand corner.

Lastly, Aaron helps explain how all three screens can work together in benefit to the operator in the Fendt 900 Vario. The two screens to the right can completely mirror one another and the dash screen can display multiple options. For example, “an operator can display their guidance map directly in front of them, their tractor functions on the top right monitor, and their baler running on their Universal Terminal on the lower right screen” shows Aaron. Also, if the upper right screen is not being used it can retract up into the body of the cab to allow for more vision through your window. The functionality, convenience, and technology inside the Fendt 900 Vario is unmatched!

Overall, the Fendt 900 Vario is a great piece of equipment that you can customize to your needs in the field. These machines are designed to bring technology to your fingertips in a way that assists you into a more successful operation.
