LDI kicks off Fendt Rogator 900 Series Elevation Tour

Monday, May 23, 2022
Farmers from across the state gathered at an alfalfa field south of Salina to launch the Fendt Rogator 900 Series Elevation Tour hosted by Lang Diesel Inc. (LDI).

The Fendt Rogator 900 Series is the industry’s only rear boom sprayer with two-height adjustable clearance. It can go from standard-clearance to high-clearance application in less than 45 seconds without the operator ever leaving the cap. The sprayer can also change from liquid to dry application in under two hours, optimizing the equipment's potential for return on investment.

“This is the first Fendt sprayer we’ve ever had, and now we have a full line-up of Fendt products. We have this strategy; it’s a farmer's first strategy.” Said Gregory Pumo, marketing director, application equipment, Fendt NA.

While this is the first application equipment to carry the Fendt brand name, it is not AGCO’s first venture into making reliable and high-performing application equipment. The popular TerraGator and RoGator application equipment lines are predecessors to the new Fendt 900 Series. After several years in development and many innovative improvements such as a bigger cab, a state-of-the-art air filtration system, and two-position clearance, the Fendt 900 series was brought to market.

“It took thousands of engineering hours and over the last year or two years building on the solid foundation of the RoGator brand for this to become a Fendt Rogator. It’s a game-changer for farmers and commercial applicators,” said Pumo.

More than 20 farmers and guests took their turn behind the wheel of the Fendt Rogator, learning about the equipment’s groundbreaking new features.

“When I was in the aerial application business, one of the first things my boss taught me was that if the propellers were not turning, the plane wasn’t making money. I was excited to test drive this rig today,” said Michael Kempke, general manager at CGS. “It never made sense that we couldn’t have a single power train for multiple operations in the custom application world. Now we can with a simple change over. Thank you, LDI, for the demo opportunity.”

The event also included an educational session from AGCO Farm Solutions Manager Jason Lee. Lee discussed a couple of features that make the Rogator unique and improve profitability on the farm while improving soil health.

“The first key area I want to discuss is timing. Optimum application timing and how important that is” said Jason Lee, agronomy and farm solutions manager, AGCO. “Whether we are talking about a fungicide, herbicide, or fertilizer application- the timing that we apply those products will determine the efficacy. With the high clearance option with the Rogator, we have the flexibility to go in and apply products when the time is right, improving efficacy and maximizing our return on investment.”

The second point Lee made was the importance of timely herbicide application and the Fendt Rogator’s Liquid Logic system that helps maximize time and product and minimize damage to waterways and field barriers.
