LDI-Topeka Equipment Sales, Ed Brown, met with different operations mid-October near Emporia, KS, to demo the new Gleaner T71 Series. Todd Davis, with AGCO, was able to join us in the field and help walk through the combine as well. Ed has been introducing AGCO equipment to Jared for some time in hopes of making that switch in the future. Ed Brown also met up at Tap Farms, a father/son-run operation, just north of Emporia, later in the week.
Throughout Jared’s demo experience, he shared with Ed that he liked the speed and efficiency of the T Series as it moved through his field of beans. He also reflected on the hydro handle joystick within the cab that added to the simple design of the machine. Jared was able to run the Gleaner T71 for about three days of his harvest before the machine moved north. As Tap Farms jumped in the cab, they stated, “We are shocked at how this Gleaner T71 Combine performs.” The father/son duo was unaware of the power and performance abilities of the combine.

Ed informed us that the Gleaner T71 Combine is one to remember. The new transmission has a lot more finesse in the field. The creep mode allows for the combine to slowly approach the header more carefully than before. The Gleaner T Series also now has the reverse rotor feature that allows the fan to blow any debris off the fan by the push of a button. In older models, it is a manual operation with a hand crank; with this newer model, you don’t even have to leave the cap!
