LDI-Topeka Equipment Sales, Ed Brown & Gabe Loya, met with Jeff Heim on May 16, 2025, northeast of Topeka, to continue a demo with the Fendt 939 Tractor and the Fendt Momentum Planter on Heim’s field. Heim has shown interest in the Fendt line for some time now and is excited to work with Gabe. Heim ran the combo in his fields for a few days, planting beans for fall harvest. Heim’s goal was to find a planter that better manages the Northeast Kansas terraces, hills, and rough terrain prevalent on his land.
Throughout Jeff’s demo experience, he shared his thoughts on both the tractor and the planter. Overall, Heim loves the Fendt Momentum Planter. When asked about his favorite features of the machine, he expressed that the capacity was huge for him. The Momentum Planter has two separate, center-fill tanks that are easy to use and quick on the job. He also shared that the 1000-gallon option to run with fertilizer while planting is a huge perk for Jeff. Although he currently sprays after everything is planted, he loves the choice of application while planting with the Fendt Momentum Planter. As identified, Jeff’s main interest in the Momentum planter was the flexibility to travel over hills and terraces to combat the terrain of his fields. His current planter is more solid and straight; therefore, it skips areas where he wants seeds placed. With the Momentum, he can reach more of those curved hillsides and accomplish a more successful population. The Fendt Momentum Planter can plant 150-155 thousand seeds per acre with the Flex-Delta Force Set for proper placement and maximum population reached. Another feature of the Momentum planter is the tandem axles that eliminate pinch rows. This occurs because the planter wheel aligns with the tractor’s tracks, which creates less compaction in the field. Overall, Jeff Heim was very pleased with the Fendt Momentum Planter and hopes to add it to his operation soon!
Heim also shared his love for the Fendt 939 Tractor and how adding that to his operation would be amazing for productivity. While running the Fendt 939, he shared that it was the smoothest tractor he has ever operated. The suspension was unmatched. Another highlight for the Fendt 939 was its speed: the 939’s highway road gear allows for 32-34 mph travel when transitioning from fields, compared to most competitors' 22-25mph travel speed. Jeff states that the combo of the two machines is amazing and something he would love to have in his operation.
The excitement of the Fendt Momentum and 939 Tractor also spread throughout the neighborhood, and one of Jeff’s demo days included showing off the duo to his neighboring farmers as well. The Fendt Momentum and Fendt 939 tractors are powerhouses in the field and would benefit anyone looking to upgrade their equipment. Whether you are tackling distance between fields, hills, and terraces, or just need a reliable unit to get you through the season, the Fendt product line is for you.
