April 22 is a day of celebration as we get the opportunity to absorb the beauty the Earth provides us. Here at LDI, we appreciate the beauty of farming and what it gives us. With farming comes hard work, dedication, and true love for the land.
We love Fendt because of their sustainability efforts and dedication to managing and reducing their carbon footprint. In the 2023 Sustainability Report, Fendt, through AGCO, is planning to reduce their carbon footprint in the future by starting, “a new ambitious decarbonization target of 55% absolute emissions reductions by 2033 and 90% emissions reduction by 2050” (Farmer, p.37). They also increased their renewable electricity and energy use over the 2023 year and will continue these practices to help reach their goals. Fendt has increased, in both on-site and company, electric and compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles in 2023, in North America, “including two Class 8 tractor trailers used to transport components parts and a CNG delivery van” (Farmer, p. 42). Overall, the carbon footprint of Fendt is reducing, and their efforts will continue to help decrease this footprint into the future for our world.
Fendt is not only working towards reduced emissions, but they are increasing their focus on conserving natural resources as well. “Do more. Use less… We are dedicated to acting as responsible stewards of the natural resources that support our business, including water and waste” (Farmer, p.46). In 2023 Fendt has set up new goals to further reduce their internal water usage throughout production and are continuing to design products and help farmers boost their efficiency out in the field. Fendt and many other AGCO sites have also put out an environmentally friendly waste management program called RETHINK. This program was originally planned to roll out in 2024 and will help emphasize Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle with their employees and raise awareness to limit waste disposal and hopefully increase recycling at all locations participating in the movement (Farmer, p.46).
Overall, the technology of Fendt, combined with their environmental sustainability plan, helps us at LDI be even more proud to serve the community with Fendt equipment. We love the earth and what it provides our population through agriculture, and we are beyond grateful to showcase the amazing equipment that AGCO provides us with Fendt. Agriculture will forever be a beautiful creation that deserves to be protected and celebrated not only on Earth Day, but every day. Happy Earth Day!
