Equipment Spotlight: Gleaner S9 Super Series Combine

With harvest in full swing let’s dive into the dynamic features that make up the Gleaner S9 Super Series Combine. This powerhouse is built differently to cater to exactly what you as a farmer need in the field!

When looking at the S9 Combine there are obvious features that make this machine stand out against the others. The Gleaner S9 Combine makes a big impact with its efficiency in both getting the job done and leaving a lighter footprint on the job. Gleaner Combines on average weigh about 10,000 pounds less than the other leading combines throughout the industry. This allows for less ground compaction and can benefit a no-till operation much easier than others. Another area of efficiency is in the Gleaner Combines way of handling and processing material when feeding, threshing, and separating during harvest. The crop mat design allows for the processor to handle and move much larger amounts of material while also using less horsepower. This makeup boosts efficiency in the S9. The fuel efficiency of this machine is simple; the Gleaner S9 can move power without the less fuel-effective gearboxes and hydraulic motors which in turn allows for more power going directly to harvesting and less fuel is needed to complete the job.

Not only is the Gleaner S9 Combine efficient in operation, but the technology and design behind its unloading auger and inside features in exceptional as well! The carefully designed auger has a unique “Direct Flow” unloading system. This auger can unload at four bushels a second and can empty the 390-bushel grain bin in just about 98 seconds! Because of the efficient Natural Flow processor, the grain bin design can excel in the S9. By positioning most of the grain bin ahead of the processor there is a better center of gravity created compared to other combines that place the bin above the processor. Pushing it forward and around it helps with stability and balance to handle faster movement and greater hillsides with ease. With the bin being lower behind the cab it also reduces the height of the implement while still allowing a standard of 390 bushels of grain like other models.

The Gleaner S9 Super Series Combine strives to be a simple machine that doesn’t need all the bells and whistles. “Complexity creates clutter. The reduced complexity of the Gleaner Combine allows for easy access to maintain and service the machine.”  Gleaner believes in a straightforward design that gets the job done for the operator's needs. The simple design carries into the cab as well. With a one-screen design and one easily maneuvered lever, everything is in one place to reduce the need for movement during harvest. At the edge of the armrest lays four multifunction tabs right at the farmer’s fingertips. Overall, the Gleaner S9 Super Series Combine is a sturdy, trustworthy machine that farmers can trust!
