Dave Schneider is Retiring!

After 14 amazing, dedicated years of service to the LDI team, Dave Schneider is retiring from LDI at the end of June! Dave has been a rockstar throughout his time with LDI, and we are so grateful that we have been a part of his life.

Dave started with LDI in 2010 as a field service technician for application equipment, but that is not where Dave’s skills leveled out. He was a committed employee of LDI and during his career, he's been a service manager, parts manager, store manager, and sometimes a combination of the 3 simultaneously! He also moved around all LDI locations to help where he was needed; if you requested his help, he was there. He worked for longer lengths of time in Garden City, Ellinwood, Dodge City, and Sabetha!

We asked Dave a couple of questions about his time here at LDI to help us better see his hard work and dedication to the company and what the past 14 years have done for Dave!

  • What has been one of your favorite memories/moments/experiences at LDI?
  • “When each store voted, and I won the ‘Values Champion Award’ for the Eastern part of Kansas.”
  • Why would you recommend LDI to someone seeking employment?
  • “It’s been a good place to work for 14 years and it’s never boring!”
  • Do you have a favorite position you’ve been in at LDI?
  • “Application Manager”
  • How has LDI helped you grow in your career?
  • “Regular training & constant challenges”
  • Is there anything else you want to share about your time with LDI?
  • “This is a good group to work with”

Dave is a crucial part of the LDI and has impacted not only the company, but he created strong bonds with his coworkers as well! The Topeka team shares many fond memories of Dave:

  • “We appreciate you so much for helping in the company, starting up new stores, looking up parts for us, and getting us wiring diagrams. Congratulations!” – Ed Brown
  • “I first worked with Dave at the Sabetha location, then again as a customer when I stepped away for a bit. I got a lot of his knowledge especially on the hay equipment because Dave loves hay equipment far more than spray equipment. So then when I started working for LDI at the Topeka location as the Parts Manager, I was able to work side by side at the parts counter with Dave. Some of the things I will remember for a long time are the abuse Dave showed his computer mouse and the choice words that may have been said to various ordering companies, it’s been a real pleasure to work beside Dave and get some of the knowledge that he has.” – Clinton Lambotte
  • “Where do you start with Dave Schneider, the guy is a wizard… our customers praise and thank Dave. I called Dave at 11 p.m. once in Lyons, KS trying to update software because I knew he would be up, and I knew he would help. Dave has never let me down; we’re going to miss Dave when he decides to enjoy retirement. There will be a big void, not only internally, but with the customers he has helped over the years. The guy knows his stuff, he is a technically minded individual who is good!” – Dan Byers

As Dave enters retirement, we remember the 14 years of memories and hard work we have shared with him and appreciate the passion he has for the agriculture industry. Thank you, Dave, for your commitment to LDI, and we wish you a happy and prosperous retirement! Come visit us!
